I did not spend much time in Cyprus, but the time that I did have there was pretty great. I stayed right on the beach and really enjoyed how beautiful it was.
Beaches – they are beautiful and obviously a big part of the island
Kato Paphos Archaeological Park – historic site in Paphos
Saint Lazarus Church – Orthodox church build over the tomb of Lazarus in Larnaca
The official currency is the Euro, but I had no problem paying by credit card.
There are local bus options but as I found myself in transit late at night and early in the morning I had to rely on taxis.
I flew Blue Air from London Luton (LTN) to Larnaca (LCA). I flew Tus Air from Larnaca (LCA) to Tel Aviv (TLV).
I did not have enough time to try any traditional food while in Cyprus.
PLUGS / ADAPTERS
Cyprus uses British plug type G.
None for U.S. citizens for 90 days.
I felt very safe in Cyprus. I found a reliable taxi at the airport and felt very safe at my hotel’s location on the beach. I never entered the heart of the city so I can’t comment on Larnaca as a whole.
SHOULD YOU VISIT?
Sure! Cyprus is a nice island spot within the EU. It comes with loads of history and beautiful beaches, so if you’re looking for a new European stop give it a try!
