France is an amazing country with so much to see and do. There is so much art to see and I really enjoyed just walking the streets of Paris. Nice is another beautiful city to consider visiting in France.
Musée d'Orsay - in my opinion one of the best art museums in the world, especially for Impressionist art
Eiffel Tower - I know this is obvious but make sure you see it light up at night (it happens on the hour for five minutes)
Montmartre - amazing area of Paris; be sure to visit Sacré-Cœur and to check out the art being sold on the street
The official currency is the Euro, but I had no problem paying by credit card as well.
I walked a ton in Paris and also used the Metro often. It is inexpensive and very easy to use.
I took a train from Monaco Monte Carlo to Nice Ville and from Nice Ville to Paris Gare de Lyon. I flew Norwegian Airlines from Paris (CDG) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL).
French food is fantastic. I went to a great place that served endless steak and fries called Le Relais De L'Entrecôte. If you're looking for great pastries try Gosselin.
PLUGS / ADAPTERS
France uses European plug type E.
None for U.S. citizens.
I felt very safe throughout my time in France. There was intense security at every museum that I visited. The only thing I felt wary about was my visit to Notre Dame, as there was very lax security at such a historic and iconic landmark.
SHOULD YOU VISIT?
Yes! France is amazing and it is hard to beat walking through the streets of Paris. Paris is a city that everyone should try to see at least once. It is such an incredible place, but there is also much more to see throughout the rest of France. The French-Riveria, such as Nice, is a personal favorite. It's hard to accurately describe how beautiful it is.
