I loved my short stay in Grenada. The Grand Anse Beach is amazing. I spent my time in Grenada just walking along the beach. It is a beautiful place filled with locals and tourists alike.
Grand Anse Beach - beautiful beach that Grenada is known for
Underwater Sculpture park - snorkel to see a gallery of underwater sculptures
Fort George - good view of the island
The official currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, but I had no problem paying in USD or by credit card everywhere I went.
Taxis are the most common form of transportation for tourists. I was also able to walk a lot.
I flew British Airways from Saint Lucia (UVF) to Grenada (GND). I flew LIAT from Grenada (GND) with a transfer in Bridgetown (BGI) to Dominica (DOM).
I had great food at a local restaurant on the beach.
PLUGS / ADAPTERS
Grenada uses British type G plugs.
None for U.S. citizens.
I felt safe during my time in Grenada. I would not walk alone late at night, but the beach seemed completely safe during the day.
SHOULD YOU VISIT?
Sure! While not as glamorous as some of it's Caribbean neighbors, Grand Anse Beach is stunning and there are things to do around the island. It would not be my first choice in the Caribbean, but there are plenty of resorts and things to see if you decide to stop in Grenada.
